Package Highlights
1.
Nine different car types for your selection. The basic car type of this package is S Class.
2.
All the rented cars provided in this package are right hand drive and equipped with car navigation systems. By entering the location Mapcode or telephone number, the car navigation system will guide you to the destination. (The language of car navigation system is Japanese. English operation manual will be provided.)
3.
Full tank is not necessary when you return your car.
4.
One free copy of "Hokkaido Driving Map" Chinese and English version will be provided for each car.
5.
To provide greater flexibility, Optional Car Rental customers can select different drop off locations (Different Drop Off Location Fee maybe charged)
6.

7.
Nippon Rent-A-Car car insurance also covers those licence holders who have their licences issued less than 1 year.

Note:
The car insurance coverage may not applicable in the following cases:
- Failure to report to Police and Nippon Rent-A-Car Service, Inc. when accident happens
- Violation of car rental agreement (for example car is driven under the influence of alcohol or by an unauthorized driver, etc)
- Negligence in proper use or care of the rented vehicle

Non-Operation Charge (NOC) Bound by Renter In Case of Accident
NOC applies as part of the compensation when the rented vehicle needed repairing or cleaning under the cases of traffic accident, car theft, broken down, stains, damage, etc., which those are not the Nippon Rent-A-Car Service, Inc. responsibility.
- JPY 20,000 paid by Renter when the rented vehicle is returned to the originally designated location
- JPY 50,000 paid by Renter when the rented vehicle is not returned to the above mentioned location

The Scenic Byways, which introduced by Scenic Byway Resource Center, Japan, are the most stunning driving routes to discover the nature beauty of Hokkaido.

Scenic Byway HOKKAIDO
Scenic Byway is a program aiming to offer an attractive and distinctive HOKKAIDO. It intends to make a lasting impression on tourists, not only from Japan but also from all over the world. It makes full use of local resources such as the landscape, nature, history, culture and recreation areas unique to Hokkaido. Based on the idea of communities, the Scenic Byway HOKKAIDO program relies on various slogans: "enhancing the beautiful landscape," "creating a vibrant local community," and "attractive tourist resources." The ideas inherent in these slogans are to be implemented through conservation and improvement of local resources in cooperation with local communities and the administration.

Tips for Driving in Hokkaido
1.

When you drive to/from the highway, please go to the Toll Gate with sign [一般] (It means general) for ticket and payment. 
Note: Toll Gate with sign [ETC
專用] is for the car equipped with automatic payment machine.

2.
Be alerted to give way in your right turn even you have the green traffic light on.
3.
Please give way to pedestrians.
4.
Please be aware of crossing animals.
5.
According to the Road Traffic Act, an infant seat is required for children below 6 years old. Please alert your travel agent upon your booking request. It is free of charge service but request must be done in advance.
6.
If you're not familiarized with gasoline refilling procedures, please consider go to the full service [Full フル] gas station that provides full service to you. 
Note: [Self セルフ] gas station is the self-service station.
7.
All car types provided by Fly & Drive HOKKAIDO package must use petrol and both [ハイオク] stands for super petrol and "レギュラー"stands for regular petrol are compatible to your car.

ディーゼル軽油] stands for diesel.

All car types provided by Fly & Drive HOKKAIDO package are non-smoking car. 
Note: If you want to have a smoking car, please
request through your travel agents upon reservation.

Furano (富良野) and Biei (美瑛) destinations are very popular to Japanese.  Heavy traffic may be expected during the Japan's Summer Holiday (mid-July to August).
